Madlib – Sound Ancestors
Released: 29 January 2021
Sound Ancestors is an instrumental album touching various efforts of creative production efforts, as Madlib mixes sounds to create rhythm & harmony on a track. Sound Ancestors was sequenced and arranged with the help Hebden’s watchful ear.
I liked most songs on this album, but a weak intro combined with few oddly placed tracks, such as “Loose Goose” and “One For Quartabe” left a bit to be desired on Sound Ancestors. But overall, this (compilation-esque) LP is a very enjoyable listen.
