Blu let loose this one of out left field, featuring the self-proclaimed King of Soul, J Wallace. $10 for the full 10 track album should be well worth it. Unlike Blu’s previous works, this one sounds promising (and mixed) enough to stay in your tapedeck. Also, be on the lookout for the new Blu & Exile Maybe One Day EP but beware, it features two tracks that were on the previous Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them.
$6 for a 6 track EP in which 2 of the songs are old (but mastered…as if we don’t deserve mixed and mastered music to begin with, seeing as he charged for Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them too) with 2 additional songs being instrumentals only. I’d say if you want to purchase some new Blu, take New World Color instead. Or wait it out. A month from now he might re-release this fully mixed or mastered then charge double for it. Which seems like regular Blu protocol these days. Give me my albums properly mixed if you’re going to charge for it, please.
