And now, the best rap song of 2011…
1.
Another Naive Individual Glorifying Greed and Encouraging Racism – Big K.R.I.T.
– Big K.R.I.T. tackles the derogatory word now used by many as a term of endearment. K.R.I.T. spells it out in acronyms first, then details how it is to be a “nigger/nigga”. The song is laced with beautiful horns and drums and an infectious piano, with K.R.I.T. flawlessly flowing, spitting amazingly truthful rhymes all while encouraging his peers to not behave recklessly. K.R.I.T.’s message here, is if you want to be treated civilly, you must behave with poise and pride, not succumb to the glamorous lifestyles portrayed by your average rap star. There is not a flaw in this song, and in a year full of standout tracks, this one takes the crown as rap’s best of 2011.
